Traffic on the Drumul Taberei subway will be opened on Tuesday, September 15, the Minister of Transport announced. In the meantime, Metrorex has also published the schedule according to which the trains will run.
The Drumul Taberei subway will be open to traffic on Tuesday, September 15, after several delays and unfulfilled promises. The new line is, in fact, Highway 5 – and the trains will run on the section of Heroes 2 – Novelists. There are, in total, 10 stations spread over 7 kilometers.
In the meantime, Metrorex has also published the circulation program.
According to Metrorex, between 5:00 and 6:00, the subway in Drumul Taberei will run on the section of Heroes 2 – Novelists at an interval of 9 minutes. From 6:00 to 10:00, metro trains will reach the stations in 6 minutes. Between 10:00 and 13:00, the metro will run every 9 minutes. Between 13: 00-20: 00, the subway train will reach passengers every 6 minutes, from 20:00 to 22:00, the subway will arrive at 9 minutes, and from 22:00 to 23 : 30, the train will pass through the stations every 10 minutes.
On the sections of the Novelists – The River of the Lady and the Novelists – IalomiÅ£a Valley, the subway will run at 18 minutes between 5: 00-6: 00, 10: 00-13: 00 and 20: 00-22: 00. Trains will arrive at the stations in 12 minutes between 6:00 and 10:00 and from 13:00 to 20:00. Between 22:00 and 23:30, trains will run every 20 minutes.

Contracts for the Drumul Taberei subway have been signed since 2011, and work began in 2012. It should have been ready in 2015. The project stalled in contested tenders, lawsuits filed by the builders, then appeals filed by Metrorex. According to Metrorex, 19 million passengers will travel on the new metro line every year.
