So far, Dacia has unveiled three of the new models. There is still the electric car for 2021, but we already know what it looks like. The most awaited models are the most hidden. It's Duster 3, but it's a special, new SUV with seven seats.
You may not know it, but Duster existed before Renault took over the Mioveni plant. It is a version made especially for Great Britain. A Dacia Duster GLX was sold in Great Britain for about 6,000 pounds. It was, in fact, an Aro 10 with all-wheel drive and production was continued until 2006. It started in 1980.
What we currently have is an SUV launched in 2009 and updated at the end of 2017, with an official debut in 2018. Also, in 2020, the Duster was updated with a hybrid engine: petrol and and LPG. But Dacia is preparing a redesign of the model and this new one would be presented sometime in 2021.
According to information provided by MotorsActu, we are talking about new engines, such as a hybrid E-Tech version with a 130 hp engine, but also a new entertainment system with a central screen of 9.3 inches .
The company's promise, as has been the case so far, is that the car will continue to be accessible. The expected changes are to be a slightly more robust car, given that a seven-seater SUV would take the place between Duster and Sandero Stepway.
Renault plans to bring a hybrid engine with an electric motor on the B0 platform, currently used on the Duster. It would be an update of the 1.0 TCe and 1.3 TCe models. However, it would be strange not to change the platform, given that the new Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway models are produced on the CMF-B, just like other Renault models.
For now, all information about the three new models will be provided on September 29. The most important fact to know will be the price and where they are positioned on the market in front of the competition.
